OTHM Level 5 Diploma in
Cyber Security
Overview
The OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Cyber Security equips learners with a solid grounding in both the theory and practice of cybersecurity. Through foundational studies in computer science and mathematics, learners build the analytical skills needed to assess and reason through security challenges. The program also provides broad exposure to key technical areas such as computer networks, IT systems, architecture, and operating systems, while offering hands-on experience in developing digital solutions like databases and neural networks.
Beyond technical proficiency, the qualification places a strong emphasis on understanding the behaviours and tactics of cyber threat actors. Learners gain practical insight into the vulnerabilities commonly exploited in digital systems and are trained in strategies to identify, prevent, and recover from cyberattacks.
Level 5 OTHM qualifications reflect a strong blend of practical knowledge, skills, and competencies, academically benchmarked as equivalent to a Higher National Diploma (HND) or the second year of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree program.
